free-ringIn cyberspace, users have the option to buy ring-tones of their choice for their mobiles. There are a host of sites on which you can get paid ring-tones. However, sometimes it becomes frustrating when you cannot transfer the ring-tones you paid for to another mobile. I have come across stories where people were left dumb-folded when they went for a mobile upgrade and the ring-tones could not be transferred. Situations like these make the free ring-tone sites even more in demand. In fact, if you don’t know how to get a free ringtone, there are sites that will provide you detailed instructions on the process.

On some sites, users also have the option to create their own ring-tones by using their own music, animations, and pictures. Recently I came across an online ring-tone community “Brinked” which lets the users create their own ringtones for free. The most impressive thing is that they support any phone or carrier that supports media files. These include Nextel, Sprint, T mobile. ATT, iphone, and many more. You can get the hottest and latest songs as ring-tones and you can also select from the most downloaded ones. The genre offered is varied from Reggae, Rock, and Rap to Pop, Country, and Movies. In case you have a specific song in mind, you can use the search feature to get your desired song. Another interesting aspect is the option of submitting a ring-tone. You just register on their site and you can submit your favorite ring-tone. All in all a perfect way to jazz up your communication free of cost!

Let me share my personal experience with HP, their lousy and low quality product.

I purchased an HP TX1320US (Turion 64 X2 TL-60 2GHz, 2GB RAM, 250GB HDD, Vista Home Premium) tablet PC last year from JLR, NYC. At the time of purchase I was in two minds; whether to buy Apple Macintosh or HP TX 1000 series. Due to convincing selling of JLR rep, I decided to buy HP TX 1320 US.

It has been working fine for about an year. Thought it was a good decision and I have partnered with a good company. However the laptop died within 13 months. Just imagine, exactly 1 month after warranty expiration the laptop died.

I faced following problems with the HP TX1320US laptop:

  • Overheat, at times temperature rising more than 90 degree
  • wireless card not working
  • Failure to boot ( LED glows blue except the mute and wifi buttons LED they glow orange, and on the screen nothing comes even the boot time HP logo is also not coming.)

    • I complaint to HP and wrote emails to various people within HP to get my laptop repaired. Well writing to CEO of HP had some impact. I was contacted by HP and the laptop was repaired for free.

    Though the laptop worked well for about two months, but it again showed signs of the same problem and last week it died completely. I am really at loss of words now.

    This time I am feeling really helpless and looking for a permanent solution to my problem. My experience with HP is disastrous and its really unacceptable to have this kind of problem on a 1 year-old computer. Interestingly, HP does not acknowledge this problem and apparently they are not planning any recalls on this defective product.

Gone are the days when the only sound that we associated with a mobile phone was ‘tring tring’. :) Today, the more trendier your ringtone, the more stylish you are. So why not download a ringtone from a website. A number of such sites have mushroomed which offer such ringtones for free but some of them charge some money too. When i googled mp3 ringtones i got a list of many such good sites. Few of them very nice sites, where you can preview and download ringtones . Download is an easy process. You can either search your ringtone by doing an Edit>Find and then click the download button to do ‘Save Target As’. Or if your site has some kind of collaboration with the network operator, then the ringtone can be downloaded through that mode also.

    These days there is a new concept which has emerged of caller tunes and i personally don’t like it at all. IMHO, why should the caller be subjected to some unsolicited song which he or she might not like. But this caller tune concept can be called a baby of mobile ringtones. They have come a long way…remember the monotonic ringtones which i never liked and was so happy when i could get a polyphonic ringtone for personal mobile. Way to go mobile ringtones!!!
